The Crucified Messiah

La llegada de Jesús será un evento de gran victoria y absoluta finalidad. Ese día incluirá la resurrección y la Nueva Creación . El regreso de Jesús es retratado en el Nuevo Testamento como un evento singular, de gran finalidad. Su “ llegada ” o ‘ Parousía ’ estará acompañada por trastornos celestiales y terrestres, la aparición de la Nueva Creación, la resurrección de los muertos justos, el juicio y castigo de los impíos, “ la reunión de sus elegidos ” y el fin de la Muerte.

La Buena Noticia anunciada por Jesús de Nazaret ofrece salvación y vida a los hombres y mujeres de todas las naciones . Después de su resurrección, Jesús declaró que “ toda autoridad en el cielo y en la tierra me es dada; ¡por tanto, id y haced discípulos a todas las naciones!” Así, envió a sus discípulos a anunciar su señorío y salvación hasta “ los confines de la Tierra .” El mensaje vivificante de Cristo debe ser anunciado a todos los hombres y en cada nación bajo el cielo.

The return of Jesus in great glory will result in the resurrection of the righteous dead, and the end of Death itself - 1 Corinthians 15:24-28. Paul responded to believers who denied the coming resurrection of the righteous by stressing the necessity of resurrection for our salvation and life in the new creation. He pointed to Christ’s past Death and Resurrection as the precedent for and guarantee of our own resurrection.  We will be raised bodily when Jesus arrives from the heavens.

El regreso de Jesús en gran gloria resultará en la resurrección de los muertos justos y el fin de la Muerte misma - 1 Corintios 15:1-57. Pablo respondió a los creyentes que negaban la resurrección venidera de los justos enfatizando cuán necesaria es la resurrección para nuestra salvación y vida en la nueva creación venidera. Señaló la Muerte y Resurrección pasadas de Cristo como el precedente y la garantía de nuestra propia resurrección.  Seremos resucitados corporalmente cuando Jesús llegue de los cielos.

Christ’s Death and Resurrection are foundational and indispensable to the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles . The Apostle Paul discusses the future resurrection of believers in his second letter to Timothy in response to denials of this “ sound teaching .” Faith in the resurrection is central to the doctrine of salvation proclaimed by Jesus and his Apostles. This teaching is reliable. It is based on the historical death and resurrection of Jesus and the eyewitness testimony of the Apostles – (Acts 1:21-22, 2 Timothy 1:13).

La Muerte y Resurrección de Cristo son fundamentales e indispensables para las enseñanzas de Jesús y los Apóstoles . El Apóstol Pablo analiza la futura resurrección de los creyentes en su segunda carta a Timoteo en respuesta a las negaciones de esta “ sana enseñanza .” La fe en la resurrección es fundamental para la doctrina de la salvación proclamada por Jesús y sus Apóstoles. Esta enseñanza es confiable ya que se basa en la Muerte y Resurrección históricas de Jesús, y en el testimonio ocular de los Apóstoles - (Hechos 1:21-22, 2 Timoteo 1:13).

The Sovereignty of Jesus is based on his Death and Resurrection, the immovable foundation of his present reign and the Gospel . The death and exaltation of Jesus are inextricably linked in the Book of Revelation . Its visions unveil the plan to redeem humanity, and God implements it through Christ’s sacrificial death, resurrection, and enthronement.  However, this Jesus is no tyrant. He does not subjugate his enemies through force.

El Nuevo Testamento aplica las promesas mesiánicas de la Biblia Hebrea al reinado actual de Jesús. Él es Cristo el Rey . ¡Cristo es Rey! Desde su ascensión, Jesús ha reinado como Rey. Él está sentado en el Trono mesiánico de David y gobierna desde la diestra de Dios. Debido a su “ obediencia hasta la muerte ”, el hombre del pequeño pueblo de Nazaret se ha convertido en “ Gobernante de los Reyes de la Tierra ” - (Mateo 28: 18-20).

The New Testament applies messianic promises from the Hebrew Bible to the present reign of Jesus. He is Christ the King! Christus Rex – Christ is King! Ever since his ascension, Jesus has reigned as King. He is seated on the Messianic Throne of David and rules from the right hand of God. Because of his “ obedience until death ,” the man from the small village of Nazareth has become “ the Ruler of the Kings of the Earth ” – (Matthew 28:18-20).

Humanity is divided into two and only two groups – the followers of the Lamb and the subjects of the Beast . In the Book of Revelation , every man either “ Tabernacles in Heaven ” or is an “ Inhabitant of the Earth .” The terms are not geographical or spatial. They identify which Master we serve. Men either belong to “ Heaven ” or the “ Earth .” Those who follow the Lamb, “ Tabernacle in Heaven .” The “ Inhabitants of the Earth ” submit to the “ Dragon ” and his “ Beast ,” and therefore await a grim fate.

La humanidad está dividida en dos y solo dos grupos: los seguidores del Cordero y los súbditos de la Bestia . En el Libro de Apocalipsis , todo hombre “ habita en los Cielos ” o es un “ Habitante de la Tierra ”. Los términos no son geográficos ni espaciales. Estas categorías identifican a qué Señor servimos. Los hombres pertenecen al “ Cielo ” o a “ la Tierra ”. Following Jesus means a life of self-denial and service, and a willingness to suffer persecution and loss for his sake . Rage and retaliation are inappropriate reactions to hostility by disciples of Jesus. His instructions about this certainly are contrary to the “ wisdom of this age ” and human experience. Nevertheless, responding in anger to violations of our political, civil, and individual “rights” only demonstrates how far we have strayed from his teachings and examples, especially his sacrificial death on the Cross for friend and foe alike.

Jesús se sometió a una muerte vergonzosa en la Cruz, y nos convoca a seguir su ejemplo y camino . Jesús nos dice que si deseamos ser sus discípulos, debemos “ negarnos a nosotros mismos, tomar su cruz y seguirlo .” Esto fue más que un lenguaje metafórico cuando hizo este pronunciamiento en su viaje final a Jerusalén. En la Ciudad de David, él demostraría exactamente lo que significa “ tomar la cruz .”

Jesús es la Palabra hecha carne a través de la cual se revela la gloria de Dios, la misma Palabra por la cual Dios creó todas las cosas . Jesús de Nazaret es la Expresión Viva de esa Palabra Creadora.

Jesus is the Greater Tabernacle in which the presence and glory of God dwell and manifest for all men to behold – John 1:14. The  Gospel of John  presents Jesus as the ‘ Logos ’ (λογος), the “ Word made flesh ,” where the glory of God is manifested before all men. The Son of God is the Greater and True Tabernacle in which God’s presence dwells, not the portable tent carried by Israel in the Wilderness or the later Jerusalem Temple “ made with hands .”

The previously hidden mysteries of God are revealed in Jesus, especially in his Death and Resurrection, the turning point of History . The Bible speaks of the “ mysteries ” of God, His ways that are hidden from human wisdom and defy expectations. As Jesus declared, not everyone can understand the “ mysteries of the Kingdom .” It is God who reveals the deep and obscure things to whomever He pleases, and in His Son, He has done so for all men to see.

The reign of Jesus on the Divine Throne is based on his sacrificial death and resurrection, the unshakable basis of his universal authority . The Death, Resurrection, and the Exaltation of Jesus are all linked in the Book of Revelation . Christ reigns supreme over the Earth because of his obedient death and subsequent resurrection, and he therefore is authorized to reveal and put the contents of the “ Sealed Scroll ” into action. He does not tyrannize his subjects; instead, he is “ the Shepherd of the nations ” who redeems men and women from every nation.

Jesús es el Hijo de David y heredero del Trono Mesiánico, el Hijo amado de Dios y el Siervo Sufriente de Yahvé . El Evangelio de Mateo  declara que Jesús es el prometido “ Hijo de David .” Este mismo Jesús demostró lo que significa ser el Rey de Israel, especialmente a través de su muerte sacrificial. Tradicional y bíblicamente, el rey ideal esperado estaba vinculado a la Casa de David. Con la llegada del Nazareno, ese entendimiento se alteró para siempre.

Debido a que sacrificó su vida por los demás, Dios resucitó y exaltó a Jesús y lo instaló como Señor Absoluto sobre todas las cosas . Jesús es el único que revela “ los misterios de Dios ”, solo él está calificado para revelar al “ Dios invisible ”. Solo en Cristo se cumplen todas las promesas de Dios. Él abre la Biblia Hebrea y revela “ los  tiempos y estaciones .” El Mesías Crucificado es el Soberano Absoluto sobre todas las cosas, y él reina desde el Trono Divino como “ Señor ” - (Apocalipsis 5: 9-14).

Because he sacrificed his life for others, God resurrected and exalted Jesus and installed him as Absolute Lord over all things . Jesus is the only one who unveils the “ mysteries of God ,” only he is qualified to reveal the “ unseen God .” Only in Christ are all the promises of God fulfilled. He unlocks the Hebrew Bible and discloses the “ times and seasons .” The Crucified Messiah is the Absolute Sovereign over all things, and he reigns from the Divine Throne as “ Lord ” – (Revelation 5:9-14).
