The Crucified Messiah

John the Baptist prepared the way for the Messiah, the herald of the Kingdom of God and the one who baptizes in the Spirit – Mark 1:4-8. John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah of Israel, in fulfillment of the Scriptures. He was the Voice in the Wilderness, and the Elijah who was to come and restore all things before the Day of the Lord - (Malachi 4:5, Matthew 11:14).

Juan el Bautista preparó el camino para el Mesías, el heraldo del Reino de Dios y el que bautiza en el Espíritu - Marcos 1: 4-8. Juan el Bautista preparó el camino para Jesús de Nazaret, el Mesías de Israel, en cumplimiento de las Escrituras. Él era la Voz en el Desierto, y el Elías que había de venir a restaurar todas las cosas antes del Día del Señor - (Malaquías 4: 5, Mateo 11:14).

The Son of God gives the Spirit to men and women, without which there is no enduring life. His words are spirit, and they are life . “ The Spirit gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The declarations I have spoken to you, they are spirit, and they are life. ” Christ’s statement echoes the biblical principle that life and the Spirit of God are inextricably linked – (John 6:63).

El Hijo de Dios da el Espíritu a los hombres y mujeres, sin el cual no hay vida duradera. Sus palabras son espíritu, y son vida . “ El Espíritu da vida. La carne no aprovecha nada. Las declaraciones que les he hablado, son espíritu y son vida .” La declaración de Cristo se hace eco del principio bíblico de que la vida y el Espíritu de Dios están inextricablemente unidos – (Juan 6:63).

Jesus, the crucified Messiah, unveils the Scriptures and the future, and he manifests the true nature of the Living God . Jesus unveils the Divine mysteries, and only he is qualified to manifest the nature of the unseen God. Every promise of God's finds its fulfillment in him. Christ unlocks the scriptures, and there is no true knowledge of God without him. The Creator of All Things is found in Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesús, el Mesías crucificado, revela las Escrituras y el futuro, y manifiesta la verdadera naturaleza del Dios Viviente . Jesús revela los misterios divinos, y solo él está calificado para manifestar la naturaleza del Dios invisible.  Toda promesa de Dios encuentra su cumplimiento en él. Cristo abre las Escrituras, y no hay verdadero conocimiento de Dios sin él. El Creador de todas las Cosas se encuentra en Jesús de Nazaret.

Paul challenges the men from Jerusalem who were compelling Gentile Christians to conform to Jewish customs, including circumcision – Galatians 2:15-21. What identifies the people of God and determines membership in His covenant community is Christ, especially the Messiah who has been revealed on the Cross. Jews and Gentiles are justified through Jesus and his death, and nothing else !

We are acquitted before God through the faith of Jesus Christ, and not from the works of the Law – Romans 3:21-26. Having demonstrated that all men violate God’s revealed will, the Apostle Paul concludes that no man or woman is acquitted from the penalty of sin from the works and rituals required by the Law of Moses. Instead, we are declared innocent through the faith or faithfulness of Jesus Christ.

Paul’s references to justification from works have a specific category of works in view, the works required by the Mosaic Law . Sin is the Great Leveler that places everyone in the same predicament: Bondage to sin now, and death and divine wrath later. No one is exempt from the penalty of sin, but God has graciously provided a way to avoid the everlasting effects of our sinful acts.

The reign of Jesus Christ from the Messianic Throne began following his Death, Resurrection, and Exaltation – Psalm 110:1. The New Testament is explicit. God made Jesus of Nazareth Lord and Messiah, and there is no other. His reign began when God exalted Christ following his resurrection. “ God has made this same Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah! ” – (Acts 2:36).

El reinado de Jesucristo desde el Trono Mesiánico comenzó después de su Muerte, Resurrección y Exaltación - Salmo 110:1. El Nuevo Testamento es explícito. Dios hizo a Jesús de Nazaret Señor y Mesías, y no hay otro. Su reinado comenzó cuando Dios exaltó a Cristo después de su resurrección. “¡Dios ha hecho Señor y Mesías a este mismo Jesús, a quien vosotros crucificasteis ! ”- (Hechos 2: 36).

Jesus has come in these last days to provide salvation for men, women, and children of all nations, and everlasting life in the age to come . After his resurrection, Jesus declared, “ All authority in heaven and on earth is given to me! Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations .” Christ sent his disciples to announce the salvation accomplished by his death “ to the ends of the Earth .” The promise of the Abrahamic Covenant to bless all nations is now being fulfilled by Jesus Christ.

Jesús ha venido en estos últimos días para proporcionar salvación a hombres, mujeres y niños de todas las naciones, y vida eterna en la era venidera . Después de su resurrección, Jesús declaró: “¡Se me ha dado toda autoridad en el cielo y en la tierra! Por lo tanto, vayan y hagan discípulos de todas las naciones .” Cristo envió a sus discípulos a anunciar la salvación lograda por su muerte “ hasta los confines de la Tierra .” La promesa del Pacto Abrahámico de bendecir a todas las naciones ahora está siendo cumplida por Jesucristo.

Jesús proclamó una nueva realidad política, el Reino de Dios, que se parece poco a los sistemas y regímenes políticos de este mundo . Jesús apareció en Galilea proclamando el Reino de Dios – “ Arrepiéntanse, porque el reino está cerca .” El Reino prometido por Dios estaba llegando a la vida y ministerio de Cristo. Él es el Mesías y Rey de Israel que convoca a todos los hombres a volverse de sus malos caminos y someterse a su señorío mientras exista la oportunidad.

Jesus proclaimed a new political reality, the Kingdom of God, which bears little resemblance to the political systems and regimes of this age . Jesus appeared in Galilee proclaiming the Kingdom of God – “ Repent, for the kingdom is at hand .” The Kingdom promised by God was arriving in Christ’s life and ministry. He is the Messiah and King of Israel who summons all men to turn from their wicked ways and submit to his lordship while the opportunity remains.

La llegada de Jesús será un evento de gran victoria y absoluta finalidad. Ese día incluirá la resurrección y la Nueva Creación . El regreso de Jesús es retratado en el Nuevo Testamento como un evento singular, de gran finalidad. Su “ llegada ” o ‘ Parousía ’ estará acompañada por trastornos celestiales y terrestres, la aparición de la Nueva Creación, la resurrección de los muertos justos, el juicio y castigo de los impíos, “ la reunión de sus elegidos ” y el fin de la Muerte.

La Buena Noticia anunciada por Jesús de Nazaret ofrece salvación y vida a los hombres y mujeres de todas las naciones . Después de su resurrección, Jesús declaró que “ toda autoridad en el cielo y en la tierra me es dada; ¡por tanto, id y haced discípulos a todas las naciones!” Así, envió a sus discípulos a anunciar su señorío y salvación hasta “ los confines de la Tierra .” El mensaje vivificante de Cristo debe ser anunciado a todos los hombres y en cada nación bajo el cielo.

The return of Jesus in great glory will result in the resurrection of the righteous dead, and the end of Death itself - 1 Corinthians 15:24-28. Paul responded to believers who denied the coming resurrection of the righteous by stressing the necessity of resurrection for our salvation and life in the new creation. He pointed to Christ’s past Death and Resurrection as the precedent for and guarantee of our own resurrection.  We will be raised bodily when Jesus arrives from the heavens.
